Both the asian and italian restaurants are downstairs in the main building - I'd sit inside, because the patios don't get much breeze so it’s stuffy with mosquitos. The italian restaurant was okay but nothing more than you would get in a chain restaurant (lower end) back home. I expected more than a choice of noodles or rice with protein. The asian restaurant was lacking - hibachi was okay but the a la carte options not so much. The food experience overall was underwhelming, with the exception of the steak restaurant (Aura), in which atmosphere, food, and service (Fredy) were all very good. For kids over 8, not so sure - might be a little boring at the resort. For kids below 8, I could see them spending a few days in the kids pool. Our kids are older, but I thought the kids area/pool by Casa 6 and the kids club looked nice. The restaurants in the evenings all seem to be understaffed (one exception below), daily housekeeping was spotty (I had to request new coffee and drink refills every day because it didn't happen), and the pool attendants could get grumpy and ignore you if not tipped every time because their were others they could focus on. The service throughout the resort was so-so. I suppose everyone would have their preference, but I prefer the design with the main pool at the center (for example, like you would get at the Hyatt Ziva/Zilara Cap Cana). Bad things are that getting from some of the buildings to the main building is a longer walk or shuttle ride, and it actually doesn’t feel like true beach resort at the main pool. Good thing about the design is that all buildings are oceanfront. Main building with main pool at one end, then a line of buildings along the water until the last building where the main kids pool is. The layout of the resort is quite different than most others - instead of buildings surrounding a central ‘main pool’ area, it’s linear. The Enclave lounge itself is a nice benefit with a bar and some good finger foods, but for some reason it's not really air conditioned, so don't expect to cool off too much. We waited in the queue at the regular check in, then they told us where to go. Ask someone where it is when you arrive, because there is no signage. If you stay in an Enclave room (which are all in Casa !), there is a dedicated check in area and lounge for Enclave. There was also much less sargassum close to Casa 1, and easy access to the little beach area as well. I visited all of the buildings, and would stay in Enclave because of the dedicated lunch restaurant and bar by the pool, the Enclave pools which were nice and never too crowded, and the proximity to the main building since we could walk there and never had to take the shuttle. We stayed in the Enclave building - Casa 1. You can also book a private car - not sure how much that costs. There are shuttles available, too, but some people we met at the resort had a three hour ride with multiple stops since the resort is south of most other resorts. Only challenging part is that the primary mission of most of the rental car companies in Cancun is to screw you over, but that’s a topic for another review. The location is about a 75 minute drive south of the Cancun airport - I rented a car, and the drive was quite easy. Great bed, nice shower, nice patio, good views. A few things to consider - some good, some with room for improvement: The resort is new, and our room was very nice. While we enjoyed our holiday and the resort has some nice features, we will probably not return here - when compared to some other similar resorts (this review is a relative review), it wasn't our favorite. Stayed here for six nights in June 2023 with my family - two rooms in the Enclave building with a view over the water. This resort made me don’t want to come back to Cancun ever again. I can go on and on with more details of our horrible experience at this hotel. One day they came in to make our room and just took our derty towels and did not give us clean towels so I tried to call guess service and they never answer the phone. If you ask for drinks be ready to wait forever. It looks like they are understaffed because every time we went to try to get ice cream the line was super long. The specialty restaurants are just for dinner and you have to make reservation and the food is just OK. One of the days we went to eat lunch and there was a huge line to get food so we just gave up and couldn’t eat lunch that day. There is only one buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch and it does not have a big selection of food. This resort is the worst resort I have ever stayed in. My family and I just came back from a family vacation at the Hilton Tulum Riviera Maya hotel. I have been coming to the Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Riviera Maya area for the last 15 years 3 times a year at least and this is the first time I write a review because I feel it necessary.
